I Got Robbed — What to Do
Follow these 8 steps immediately to report the crime and protect yourself after a robbery.
Do not chase the robber yourself. Your safety is the top priority.
Steps
- 1Call 1155 Tourist Police (English-speaking)
- 2Go to the nearest police station to file a written report
- 3Request a police report copy in English
- 4Contact your embassy if passport was stolen
- 5Freeze credit/debit cards — call your bank
- 6Document everything with photos (scene, injuries, belongings)
- 7Visit hospital if you were injured
- 8Contact your travel insurance to file a claim
Tips
- Keep copies of your passport separate from the original
- Save embassy and bank numbers in advance
- Share your location with a friend/family
- Thai report template: "ข้าพเจ้า [name] ขอแจ้งความว่าถูกชิงทรัพย์เมื่อ [date/time] ที่ [location]"
