Family-Friendly Zones
For first-time family visitors, stay in Jomtien or Pratumnak rather than central Pattaya. These areas are quieter, have more family-sized condos, and allow safer beach walks. Hotels like Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort include an in-house water park, perfect for families who want kids entertained all day without transport.
If you prefer walkability, stay near Central Festival Pattaya Beach. You can walk to the beach, the mall has diverse dining, songthaews pass often, and the IMAX Cinema has a kids zone. Families with young children should avoid the Walking Street and Soi 6 areas because of adult bars and nighttime noise.
Water Parks
Cartoon Network Amazone Waterpark is Pattaya’s top pick. Kids tickets are 990 THB and adults 1,390 THB, with 150+ attractions including tall slides and a dedicated toddler zone. Ramayana Waterpark along the same road is the largest in Thailand at 1,590 THB with family-friendly rides for less adventurous parents.
Columbia Pictures Aquaverse (formerly Pattaya Park) was overhauled in 2022 with Ghostbusters and Jumanji theming. Tickets are 1,290 THB. It is smaller than the others but fun for children aged 6-12, with shallow pools and some indoor rides that keep things going when rain hits.
Zoos and Farms
Khao Kheow Open Zoo is about 35 km from Pattaya and is Thailand’s best open zoo. Adult tickets are 250 THB and kids 50 THB, with optional evening tours. Nong Nooch Tropical Garden is closer and features an elephant show and formal French gardens ideal for family photos. Adults 500 THB, kids 400 THB.
Sheep Farm Pattaya on Na Jomtien Road is a small spot young children love, where you can feed sheep, rabbits, and ponies for a 100 THB entry fee. Silverlake Vineyard is a working vineyard with gardens for cycling and strolling at no entry fee, though restaurants and activities cost extra.
Museums and Learning Zones
Art in Paradise is a 3D trick-art museum where kids photograph themselves all afternoon. Tickets are 500 THB adults and 300 THB kids. Ripley’s Believe It or Not at Royal Garden Plaza bundles six attractions for 1,390 THB including a 5D Cinema and Mirror Maze that kids love.
Sanctuary of Truth is a giant carved wooden temple. Not ideal for toddlers, but children aged eight and up find it amazing. Entry is 500 THB adults and 250 THB kids. Upside Down House Pattaya is a fun photo spot at 300 THB adults and 150 THB kids.
Kid-Safe Beaches
Jomtien Beach is the most kid-friendly due to shallow water and gentle waves. Umbrellas and beach chairs rent for 100-150 THB per day. Wong Amat Beach in North Pattaya is cleaner and quieter than central Pattaya Beach, with comfortable restaurant seating and cool evening breezes.
Avoid central Pattaya Beach Road with young children because the water is not the cleanest and jet skis operate close to shore. For truly clean swimming, head to Koh Larn’s Tawaen or Samae beaches, which have clear water and are safe for children who can swim.
Food Kids Love
Mae Sri Ruen on Soi Buakhao serves mild chicken fried rice and noodles kids enjoy at 60-100 THB per plate. The Central Festival food court offers sukiyaki, pizza, Japanese, and KFC for picky eaters. Jomtien Beach Road Night Market has snacks from 20 THB including grilled meatballs, pork skewers, and cut fruit.
For a special treat, try the Hard Rock Hotel Sunday ice cream buffet at 450 THB per person with kids under six free. If your children avoid Thai food, The Pizza Company, Sizzler, and McDonald’s have locations throughout the city.
